The Coalition of Boynton West Residential Associations (COBWRA) is a volunteer-led, nonpartisan, civic organization representing the residential communities in unincorporated Palm Beach County west of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida. The coalition was founded in 1981 and chartered as a not-for-profit organization in 1982. Representing over 115,000 residents and nearly 100 homeowner and condominium associations, COBWRA is a trusted resource of information for the residents of West Boynton, having adopted a firm policy against endorsement of any candidate for public office or any political party.
COBWRA member communities are homeowners associations and condo associations. Each community has a delegate and up to three alternates. The Coalition represents the interests of all the people within the COBWRA service area—even if a community is not a member of COBWRA—and includes proposed communities with no residents and brand new communities that have not yet been turned over.
COBWRA is the vision of one man, Dr. Richard Carrington, who in 1981 saw the need for an organization that would manage growth and represent homeowners in Boynton’s western suburbs. Today, people who drive through west Boynton often notice the unusual beauty of the area and the lack of urban sprawl and attractive separations of commercial properties from residential areas. Since its founding, COBWRA has been a voice for its residents with developers, elected officials, government agencies, and nearby municipalities. Dr. Carrington wanted a coalition that made a difference and over 30 years later, COBWRA continues to make that difference. COBWRA’s officers and volunteers are committed to continuing the legacy of Dr. Carrington and invite you to join them in keeping West Boynton the best place to live in Palm Beach County.
